2024 IFAJ STAR PRIZE

Matt McIntosh was named the 2024 International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) Journalist of the Year at the 2024 IFAJ Congress in Switzerland in August.

At the annual conference of the Canadian Farm Writersโ€™ Federation (CFWF) in Halifax on Saturday, Ontario agricultural journalists Robert Irwin of Vankleek Hill and Don Stoneman of Bancroft were presented with CFWF Lifetime Achievement Awards. READ MORE

2024 CFWF AWARDS

The Canadian Farm Writersโ€™ Federation (CFWF) announced the winners of its annual writing and photography awards on Oct. 5 during a special awards ceremony and banquet at the CFWF annual conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

CFWF presented gold, silver, and bronze awards in 12 writing categories, as well as awards for Communicator of the Year, Feature of the Year, Story of the Year, and Farm Writer of the Year. It also awarded gold, silver, and bronze in three photography categories and named a Photographer of the Year.

King Charles III Coronation Medal

On Sept. 13, Senator Rob Black announced his 20 nominations for King Charles III Coronation Medals, commemorating the King’s coronation. 

Kelly Daynard, an ECFWA member, was among the nominees.

To be eligible, candidates must have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region or community of Canada or must have made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada. Daynard was nominated for her service to agriculture.
